Goodman Gallery New York Office and Viewing Room opens in September

Goodman Gallery is growing! On September 6, we will open an office and viewing room in New York’s Upper East Side, expanding on current gallery locations in Johannesburg, Cape Town and London. The space will champion emerging talent from the African continent and leading global South programme, such as Gabrielle Goliath, Misheck Masamvu, Candice Breitz, Ravelle Pillay and Wang Bing, alongside rising international voices, including Kudzanai Chiurai and Kapwani Kiwanga (representing Canada at the Venice Biennale in 2024) as well as South African modern masters who are only beginning to gain international recognition, such as David Koloane.

‘Goodman Gallery’s expansion to the US marks a very exciting moment in our almost 60-year history. I look forward to this opportunity to create a meaningful meeting place in New York to facilitate conversations and connections with our programme, raising awareness of artists who are not represented in the US and platform historical master works by pioneers of 20th Century African Art’ – Liza Essers, Owner Director
