In the context of Candice Breitz: Never Ending Stories—the largest institutional exhibition of the artist’s work in Italy to date—the Fondazione Modena Arti Visive presents three expansive bodies of work by the South African artist. Collectively, Love Story (2016), Digest (2020) and Labour (2017, ongoing) reflect on the crucial role that storytelling plays in structuring lived reality, empowering us to narrate ourselves into selfhood, make sense of the world, and sustain the possibility of alternate future realities.
