Candice Breitz | Exhibitions | Auckland Art Gallery (New Zealand), SITE Sante Fe (New Mexico), Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Humlebaek) & Prague City Gallery (Czech Republic)

Candice Breitz’s I’m Your Man (A Portrait of Leonard Cohen) (2017) recently opened at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and runs until 11 April 2021. Breitz’s work is a nineteen-channel video installation featuring an a cappella re-performance of Cohen’s comeback album, I’m Your Man, by 18 passionate fans, who are accompanied by the all-male choir of Cohen’s family synagogue in Montreal.

Breitz’s Love Story (2016) is included in the exhibition Displaced: Contemporary Artists Confront the Global Refugee Crisis at SITE Santa Fe (1 September – 24 January 2021). The exhibition focuses on human migrations and displacements of the past, present, and future.

Breitz’s Working Class Hero (A Portrait of John Lennon) (2006) was recently installed as part of the permanent collection of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, where it is on view for the foreseeable future.

Breitz’s installation Labour (2019) remains on view at the Prague City Gallery as part of Come Closer: Biennale Matter of Art 2020. The exhibition runs until 15 November 2020.
