Willem Boshoff unveils living sculpture at the Cradle of Humankind

Boshoff recently unveiled a new sculptural work titled You Never Know at the Nirox Foundation, which borders the Cradle of Humankind, in Johannesburg. As an extraordinary “living” sentence that is literally growing out of the grass, the work spans a five-meter curve of one of the amphitheatres at the Foundation. Explaining the thinking behind the works, Boshoff states that “[t]he project started with dictionaries … I write my own dictionaries, actually, and I like to discover ambiguities – things that mean more than one thing to one person. So, you never know, [they] can mean many things. It means that you unaware of consequences – they might be good and they might be bad, you never know.”
