mounir fatmi on group exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art, Yinchuan, China; Topographie de l’art, Paris, France; and Ceysson & Benetiere, Paris, France

Where does the wind come from?, an installation by mounir fatmi features on Silent Narratives, a group show at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Yinchuan, China (2 June – 8 August). Work by fatmi also features on Graphein at Centre des Arts Ecolint (20 – 30 June). The title of the exhibition, which means ‘to make notches’, is also a reference to the show’s exploration of artists taking advantage of this word’s double meaning by associating texts and images in works that often include a critical, social and/or political dimension. In addition, fatmi’s experimental video work exploring the idea of Exoticism during the Art Deco era, The Human Factor, is on the 28th edition of the Festival Côté Court, a ten day showcase of film, video art, performances and encounters (5 – 15 June).
