Broomberg & Chanarin premiere VR work at Synthesis Gallery, Berlin

WOE FROM WIT, a new VR work by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin is shown for the first time at Synthesis Gallery (31 January – 3 February). The work, made in collaboration with Pablo Dornhege, is centered around a World Press Photo prize-winning image taken during the 2017 assassination of a Russian ambassador at an exhibition in Turkey. Through VR, Broomberg & Chanarin recreate the scene in this photograph, interspersing it with pop cultural and art historical references that prompts questions around our complicit consumption around images of violent events.
