Jabulani Dhlamini shows on exhibition dedicated to David Goldblatt

Jabulani Dlhamini is one four photographers selected to exhibit work on group exhibition, Five Photographers. A tribute to David Goldblatt: An exhibition of Alexia Webster, Jabulani Dhlamini, Mauro Vombe and Pierre Crocquet, at the Gerard Sekoto Gallery in Johannesburg (4 – 31 May). Supported by the French Institute of South Africa and the Alliance Française of Johannesburg, and curated by John Fleetwood, the exhibition honours David Goldblatt and his contribution to contemporary and documentary photography. On the artist’s inclusion in the exhibition, Goldblatt states that Dhlamini’s Sharpeville images ‘still represent the town as a harsh and unbeautiful place… but conveys nevertheless the intimacy of family, memory and belonging’.
