mounir fatmi on group exhibitions in France, Sweden and Belgium

Modern Times, a History of the Machine (2010), a film by mounir fatmi, will be shown as part of A Matter of Perception, a group exhibition at Skanstull Metro Station= in Stockholm from 1 October to 31 December. The exhibition presents five Swedish and international artists’ independent works, which explore different aspects of how we view society and the world. fatmi’s film intersects the three elements of Arabic calligraphy, contemporary art and the written language, testing the viewer’s ability to associate symbols with one another. Work by fatmi also features on Nuit Blanche at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris on 5 October, which welcomes over 100 artists and groups to exhibit in various locations across the city.
